BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS

I was born in Sault Ste Marie Ontario Canada and moved to Aotearoa NZ with my family when I was
7 years old. I went to Ohakune primary school and Ruapehu college and am proud to call Ohakune
and Raetihi my home.

INFLUENCES

I was brought up to be very independent at an early age. Both my parents hold strong values in being
reliable and self-sufficient. My father is my biggest influence and inspiration. He taught me almost
everything I know about the outdoors from mountaineering, rock and ice climbing, survival skills,
reading the land and predicting weather conditions. I would assist him when he took groups out into
the wilderness for team building courses and rescue training and this really impacted me to go down a
similar path as I got older.
I have had many mentors throughout my career including world-renowned coaches in the health and
fitness industry, worked with shamans and holistic gurus and have attended many wananga here in
Aotearoa where I studied mirimiri under the students (now teachers) of Hohepa Delamare.
I truly believe that we hold the answers to our own questions but we can only find those answers once
we realise we do not know everything. Even a master must always remain a student.

PERSONAL MILESTONES

When I was 12 years old I set out to be the youngest person to climb Aoraki (Mt Cook) with my dad.
I received a national leadership award at age 14 for my attempts and was presented the award by
Helen Clark (current prime minister at that time). At 16 I moved back over to Canada for the winter
and became a snowboard instructor. I travelled between the two countries teaching and competing in
international events and was an Olympic hopeful with the NZ team but due to devastating knee
injuries my career was cut short.
My real passion was teaching and coaching so I began to upskill my studies. I became a qualified
personal trainer and strength coach and moved to Australia where I built my own business and
pursued a career in body building. I won 10 Gold medals, was Miss Australasia 4 times and placed 3rd
at the Arnolds sports festival which is one of the biggest international competitions in the world. I also
gained a silver medal at the NSW nationals in Power lifting.
I now compete and fight in Muay Thai kick boxing and absolutely love the sport and world of martial
arts.
After the lock downs in 2020 I could see how much people were struggling (globally) and so I
decided to take a turn and continue further studies in mental health and holistic well-being. This
allowed me to offer further services to people who weren’t able to cope through this difficult time and
once restrictions were lifted I ran workshops and retreats to help people learn how to heal through
past and present challenges and traumas. I moved home to NZ in 2021 to make a difference in my
own community and I believe that by giving people the tools to heal and be the healthiest and happiest
version of themselves will carve the path for a positive future for our tamariki.

COMMITMENT TO DREAM MAKERS TRUST

I look forward to working with The Dream Makers trust to really “Make the Dream Work!”
By leading and empowering these kids to their full potential we set them up for success in all aspects
of their lives. It doesn’t matter who you are or how you grew up, you can ALWAYS change direction
for the better and create the life you dreamed of. All it takes is a little hard work and a nudge in the
right direction.
